• Church prepares for annual retreat
THE General Overseer, Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams
Kumuyi will lead thousands of Christians to Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State
capital to pray for peace as the country prepares to hold general
election next year.
The three-day crusade tagged, ‘Extraordinary Encounter With God of Miracles’ will hold between December 24 and 26.
This year’s crusade is specifically organised for Nigerians to
seek the face of God to overcome the crises threatening the foundation
of the country.
The Ekiti State Overseer of the church, Pastor Jacob Asubiojo said
this in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday during a press conference to herald the
visit of the clergyman where he charged all Nigerians irrespective of
their religion to pray for the country to survive the security
challenges.
Pastor Asubiojo also warned the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) against rigging and subversion of the people’s will
for sustainable peace and unity of the country.
He advised the people to deemphasize religion in electing people
into positions of authority, saying what the country needs are
God-fearing leaders who can bring succour to the people.
Meanwhile, Pastor Kumuyi has urged Nigerians to lessen their
apprehensions and fear about the coming year and the turbulent period of
elections, assuring that God will peacefully and successfully see the
country through.
In a press release signed by the Church Secretary, Pastor Jerry
Asemota on 2014 Deeper Life National December Retreat and monthly
revival programmes with the theme: “Lifted Up to Higher Ground” and
“Enrichment through God’s Visitation”, coming up between December 18 and
21, Kumuyi assured that God has a blueprint for the country which
surpasses any threat the coming election portends.
He, therefore, urged all Nigerians to take advantage of the
programme to plug into God’s divine master plan and appropriate the best
God has prepared for mankind over the years.
He disclosed that the programme at the Lagos venue, which is the
Deeper Life Conference Centre (DLCC), Km 42, Lagos-Ibadan express road
will be beamed to other parts of Nigeria, Europe, America and the rest
of the world where the church has branches and will feature miracles,
signs and wonders that have characterized the monthly programmes since
the inception in January 2013.
